Health and Safety
- Our approach to safety is simple. Safety has the highest priority. Through our extensive experience in both hazardous and non-hazardous construction/remediation operations we have developed strong capabilities in the areas of health and safety.

A.S.T.'s Corporate Health and Safety Officer is responsible for establishing and supervising the implementation of corporate safety policies and programs. Our training program incorporates standards set forth by OSHA in 29 CFR 1910.120 and 29 CFR 1926.65.

The training program covers contaminant identification/evaluation, hazard recognition, site entry procedures, air monitoring protocols, and construction safety. The program also involves an extensive annual physical

examination and documentation for accidents and injuries. As necessary, changes to the Health and Safety Program are made to reflect the most current regulatory requirements.

A.S.T.'s Health and Safety Program Includes

  • Extensive safety training for all employees,
  • Medical monitoring to provide a baseline and yearly evaluation for each employee, in order to accurately monitor potential health risks,
  • Respiratory Protection program,
  • Hazard communication program,
  • Documentation of employee exposures,
  • State of the art safety equipment,
  • Site-Specific Health and Safety Plans, and
  • Continuing education.

Our clients often require our employees to attend additional safety training in accordance with their safety program and we fully support the additional training and comply with all client health and safety requirements.

Insurance and Bonding - A.S.T. maintains full insurance coverage, including General Liability, Automotive, and Pollution Liability (Environmental Impairment). Our insurance has limits of $5,000,000 per occurrence.  Higher limits can be obtained on a site-specific basis or the coverage can be modified to meet a client's specific needs.

Although a small business, A.S.T. has the capacity to bond up to $3 million.  Our common bonding requirements range from $100,000 to $1 million.
