 Description:
A.S.T. performed all work required to clean,
purge, and remove seven 12,000 gallon underground storage tanks. The
project involved the excavation, transportation and disposal of 20,000
tons of contaminated soil, asphalt, and/or concrete. A.S.T. also
replaced 25,000 square feet of
concrete. The project took place at four separate locations in four
different states. |

Project:
Oil/Water Separator and Basin Maintenance and Cleaning
Location: Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Fairborn, Ohio
Contract Value: $1,726,000
 Description:
A.S.T. performed all work necessary to initially evaluate, sample,
characterize, empty, clean, and inspect fifty oil/water separators and two
large settling basins. All separator and basin contents were sampled
and waste profiles developed. The profiles were used to determine the
proper disposal options and arrange for disposal. The tasks for cleaning
the two large basins consisted of pumping, filtering, and discharging
280,000 gallons of water. Additionally the large basins required the
excavation, solidification, and disposal of 265 tons of coal dust
material. A.S.T. has a five year contract with the Air Force for
continued maintenance and
cleaning of the oil/water separators and basins. |

Project:
Removal of Fuel Storage Tanks in Industrial Zone I
Location: Former U.S. Naval Air Station, Bermuda
Contract Value: $521,000
 Description:
A.S.T. performed all work required to clean,
purge, remove and demolish 15 fuels tanks with combined capacities
totaling over 2.5 million gallons. There were two 880,000 gallon aboveground storage tanks, two
210,000 gallon underground storage tanks (UST) with eleven other UST's of
various sizes. A.S.T. prepared the project Work Plan for submittal to the
government and acquisition of permits. A.S.T. mobilized all equipment,
materials, and personnel for this large off-shore project.
A.S.T. was also
responsible for verification sampling, excavation and removal of
impacted soils, water treatment of impacted groundwater and
decommissioning of PCB transformers. A.S.T. installed
monitoring wells and analyzed over 150 soil, water, and oil samples. All
project operations were professionally executed one month prior to the
specified completion date.
The clients satisfaction with our work on
the initial contract work resulted in A.S.T. being awarded a contract to
decommission six additional 25,000 gallon UST's not in the original
contract. We also completed these additional tank removals prior to the
original contract completion date.
